„Mit Innovation zu Resilienz: Energie, Technologie, Infrastruktur“ / “Turning Innovation into Resilience: Energy, Technology, Infrastructure”

In times of a new security architecture, rapid technological change and increasing pressure on critical infrastructure, building a secure and sustainable Europe requires more than just stability: it requires innovation, cooperation and strategic foresight.

Latvia is a stable and innovative partner

Latvia ranks among the EU’s digital frontrunners, with 73% of its electricity coming from renewable sources, a well-developed e-government infrastructure and a dynamic innovation ecosystem in areas such as deep tech, cybersecurity and 5G.

Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is a key energy and logistics region

Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is a key energy and logistics region in northern Germany, leading the country in renewable electricity generation. With strong capabilities in offshore wind, hydrogen technologies, applied research and dual-use innovation, the region is well positioned to contribute to Europe’s secure and sustainable future.

We bring German and Latvian companies together

The state government of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is organizing the German-Latvian Business Day - a forum for companies and representatives from politics and public institutions from both countries - together with the Chambers of Industry and Commerce of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia, the Latvian Investment and Economic Development Agency (LIAA) and the German-Baltic Chamber of Commerce in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

The focus lies on three strategic areas:

  • Green and resilient energy systems
  • Digital infrastructure and new technologies
  • Dual-use innovation and security-related solutions

We want to develop joint strategies, strengthen resilience and competitiveness and facilitate mutual cooperation.
